Spicy Eggs

Sometimes simple is best. Anyone we have shared our hot sauce with has immediately tried it with their breakfast eggs and fallen in love. Here is our way of making Cuban huevos fritos (fried eggs) with Abuelo’s Secret Sauce!

Serves: 1 | Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1-2 medium size eggs (fresh ones if you can get your hands on them)

  • 1-2 cloves of garlic

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • Abuelo’s Secret Sauce

  • Cajun seasoning to taste

  • A few slices of Pan Cubano (or French bread if you cannot find the good stuff)

  • Butter

First thing you will want to do is get your bread into the toaster. Next, heat your olive oil in a small sauté pan on medium heat. While your oil is heating up, slice your cloves of garlic lengthwise. Toss the sliced garlic into the oil. After a few seconds, crack your egg over the garlic in the pan. Cook your egg to your desired done-ness—we can’t tell you what to do, but that sweet spot between over-easy and over-medium is how we roll. When your egg is cooked, take it out of the oil and place it on a paper towel to absorb the extra oil. Sprinkle on some Cajun seasoning and Abuelo’s Secret Sauce to taste. Get ready to never eat eggs any other way. Use your toasted bread to sop up any escaped yolk.
